i have a 97 Z28 and when i try to start it sometimes it fires right up then other times it takes 2-3 cranks. And also after im done driving it smells like fuel and like its running way to rich

 

Im not sure if this could be the problem but is your fuel pressure regulator bad?

 

if its running rich then you have to adjust your car. what kind of carb is it? if its an edelbrock, turn both screws in one full turn. drive it around and see hwat happens.

 

its fuel injection so i dont really know wut to do

 

oh dont think i can help ya there. perhaps you have too much fuel pressure or a bad regulator. you buy a new fuel pump lately? cant really point my finger on anything else, dont kno much about fuel injection problems.

 

sound like maybe your charcoal cannister may be full or perhaps a vent line may be kinked

 

It could not be your fuel system.....

Try checking your spark plug wires at your local shop, and the plugs while your at it.


My advise is to the easy, less expensive stuff first


o yeah you might wanna clean out the injectors too, if any thing it might give you a little more MPG

 

You may have a leaky injector or bad check valve in fuel pump as they could produce the symptoms you mentioned. Check the fuel pressure & see if it holds after engine is turned off.

 

Run the codes, sounds like a bad Oxygen Sensor?
