Default Does this sound like a clutch problem ?

So I was driving the car the other night, and it the car was full throttle from 1st gear to 2nd, hammering the gears....after that the car wouldn't change gears. The only gear I can get it to go into is 2nd, and it's REALLY hard, you have to force it. And once I get it into gear it rattles and makes a grinding noise. It is as if something is loose and being knocked around in the tranny.

It's making me think its the clutch.

Plus the clutch pedal feels a little different than normal, a little more play, and feels like it grinds something when close to the floor.

Any ideas?

Thanks

When the car is turned off it goes into gear like normal...its just when the car is running that I can't get it to go without really forcing it.

u may be right it could be the clutch could have went to pieces. do u have an inspection cover u can take off and have a look at the clutch and pressure plate. springs from the pressure plate could be bouncing around in there. could put it in 1st and turn it over. see what happens.

That's kinda what I was thinking....that the springs were clanking around there....

Where is the inspection cover? And does the tranny have to come off to access the cover ? I am about to start spraying the bolts on the manifolds because since I have to do some work on the tranny I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to put some long tubes on the car.

some of the manual tranies have a plate/cover on the bottom of the bellhousing that u can take off. some dont and u have to pull the tranny to see the clutch.

I'm in the process of getting the car airborne at the moment....a little more tedious than it sounds. Haha...well when you only have one person. I was jacking on the right side and the jack stand on the left side fell over ....oops...I changed my method and it's working now. I am almost finished.
