I have the chance to buy a 1996 SS 6-speed Hendricks Edition Camaro. I have never heard of this car before. The guy selling it said it had a bunch more mods than a regular SS, but he really didn't have any info on it..(it was a small dealer). Does anyone know anything about them? I googled it, but didn't really find out the true story behind them.

 

sure it isnt a cheap sticker off ebay? I have heard of this sticker edition before, don't think it it real. by the way rick hendrick is not by any means a small dealer!
the man owns 4 nascar teams and tons of dealerships in the carolinas.

I thought the Hendrick's edition came with the ls1 and a bunch of different mods?

 

james...he didn't say rick hendrick was a small dealer...he said the car was at a small dealer. i'll do some research on the hendricks cars and get back to you

Just a white polished plastic ball? You can find them on Ebay I'm sure...

They did make 1 96 Hendrick Camaro SS prototype. I owned it, It was on display at the Hendrick Motorsport Museum in NC back in 96. It is silver with black anniv stripes, 6spd, LT1 and a full hardtop. I had all documentation from Hendrick Motorsports andMr. Hamburg from SLP.
I sold the car in 2002 to a guy from San Jose Cali.

There were 61 of these made in 97 with the LT1 and 9 LT4 cars that were white with orange stripes. There were no extra performance mods, it was an appearance package only for all the HMS cars.
