Default please help

Okay, here are the problems i am having. Car is throwing a po300 ses code (which i know is a multiple cylinder misfire) engine idles rough and back fires. When driving down road it hesitates taking off and back fires around 1600-2100 rpm and then stops back firing after 2100 but still runs like crap. so i replaced fuel filter, now have 42psi on prime and like 37psi running at idle (thinks that's all good) then replaced all plugs and wires and hooked a timing light up to each wire to see it the light would light up to show power getting to the cylinders all seem well. But after all that i still get a po300 code and the car still runs like crap.

Any help would be great thanks to all! Travis

Check the coil, ignition control module, and optispark. Even though the timing light is blinking, it does not mean that the spark is strong enough.

Could also be one or more bad fuel injectors. Have you pulled your spark plugs yet? Inspecting your plugs could tell you which cylinder is misfiring. Such as, a black sooty plug (I don't mean oil-crusted) means it's running rich.

ok more bad news, the plugs looked fine all around i have replaced the optispark and the part that the rotor bolts to. which i think is the ignition control module? put it all back together and guess what now it doesn't even start. cranks, smells like gas, and we even took off one plug wire and conected a plug to the end and grounded it to the engine and it sparked. so now im worse off than i was. i was going to get a new coil and crank pisition sensor. and see what happens. any ideas would be AWSOME getting ready to set it on fire already. thanks again travis
