Default Do i need long tube headers if i have to much wheel spin on launch?

Ive been wanting to replace my 1&5/8" Edelbrock shorty headers for some 1&3/4" long tube headers. But with my short cam i have to much wheel spin as is. Im thinking the long tubes will make the tire spin worse. Now im thinking i should just wait until i put in a larger cam that will weaken the low rpm torque.

Anyone using long tube headers with a short duration cam?

the thing about long tubes ,there not as much work ,it more about getting air to the engine ,yes like you I am going to get bigger tires with time got to wear out the little ones first

Tires = P255/50R16 26 X 10.50R16. I dont think i can get a larger tire inside the wheel well.

Rear end ratio = 3.23.

my rear winter tires are 245 45s, same as front,and they spin pretty easy. not mt's though. 255/50 is pretty tall that brings your final ratio up. im using 315/35s rear in summer and they run just above the stock hight. so your rims are 10.5, if so, yep you can go wider, i wouldnt go with 315 mt rr though once warmed up mine has problems getting that little spin you want right at startup and it dosent like it. ive got 370 gears and i think if i go 411 for a track center section it will be just about right.

What type of traction device(s) installed?

Old school tricks:
Bigger/wider tire needed
Add weight

My suggestion is, since you have an A4, install a manual valve body and start in 2nd gear.

Address the suspension before you address anything else. The correct suspension for planting the rear tires will do more good than headers or tires.
