Default deleted cats

So I've been toying with the idea of replacing the exhaust minus the cats on my 97 Z28. Now before you all scream at me I KNOW ITS ILLEGAL. I know it also might throw a code at me. My question will it make the car to run poorly?

you're in minnesota, i wouldn't worry about it. i don't have cats on and many people don't.

anyway, it will probably cause your car to run a little funny if you don't have it tuned for the change. will at least for sure throw a code

test drove a car tonight that had deleted cats, exhaust seemed louder. Does that sound right? It also seemed to back fire alot, but it was also stuck in second gear. LOL

hollowed or deleted cat will definately be slightly louder, deeper, throatier and will cause lil minor backfire.mine is hollowed out and if i get on it when shifting it has a lil backfire but you can definately tell it coming from inside the empty cat.never throws a code and doesnt bother me
