You will need to bring the entire rotating assembly, including crankshaft, connecting rods, connecting rod bearings, pistons, rings, flywheel, and front damper. The pistons and rods will be balanced first. All pistons will be made equal weight, the connecting rods will have each end balanced and all brought to the same weight. The flywheel, and front damper will be balanced. After all this the crankshaft is placed in the balancing machine. Then using a formula, which varies with the engine layout, The weight of the pistons, rods, rings and bearings is entered in the formula, and the proper bob weights attached to the crankshaft. A this point the crank is spun up and weight added or removed from the crank counterweights as needed. Before you bring the whole mess in, call the machine shop and ask them what exactly they will need. Make sure you get a good shop. Good luck!
