confused need starter help

camaro 69 hit it right on the head the block has been drilled and tapped for the staggered bolt pattern
and guys i'm positive that it's an LT1 cause the first thing i had to do when i got the car
is to replace the opti spark

No need for pics, optispark=LT1. Mystery solved.
But that also means the previous guy replaced your 153 tooth flywheel (uses straight mount starter) with a 168 tooth flywheel (uses staggered mount starter).

can you find any brand name and numbers on the starter that came out of the motor? im not sure a bigger flexplate will fit? the 168 tooth is 14 inches across and the 153 is 12 3/4 inches.

Is that used starter you picked up the same style as your other one, other than the mounting being different?
If so, you can swap the nose housings from one to the other.
