Default Computer

I have a 94 z28, I would like to switch out the heads, get a new cam, and possibly put in a tturbo. I'm not going to be able to afford it all at once, and as of right now my only daily driver. Is it possible to not have to flash the computer system. Is there anything I can replace the computer system with that will automatically adjust itself to the new parts? If I have to flash it every time, how much will it cost?

No you gotta tune for major stuff like fuel mods and especially a turbo or a cam. Start out with the bolt on mods (headers, CAI, and pulleys, etc.) then when you save the money to do the heads and cam have it tuned again. As far as the turbo goes better break out the wallet lol. You'll need a forged bottom end for anything over 5 psi or so (wouldnt go that far without one hell of a dyno tune either). Your not gonna get out of tuning the pcm unless you rewire the whole car and run a carbed setup with a non computer controlled trans. The tunes vary on price look for local shops that do dyno tuning and see if they have rates on their website. They usually are about 90 an hr and up. Expect at least 2hrs. to tune the turbo/heads/and cam setup.

look over solomons site LT1 PCM Tuning - OBDI/OBDII PCM Tuning/Programming Service you get a second tune free and can adjust the tune yourself once you get set up.
