This post makes my head hurt...
Let me get this straight (can we get some punctuation next time?):
Your clutch is not engaging all the time (so it's an intermittent problem?). When the clutch does not engage you can start it in 1st (you should have to depress the clutch pedal to get the car to start, I don't get this part of your post...expand on it). When you open the master cylinder (I'm assuming the clutch master cylinder) it fixes the problem with the clutch not engaging. And you would also like to know if it could be air bown...air born? brown air? air blown? air boon? huh?
If I'm understanding correctly it sounds like there's probably a problem with the hydraulic system (either the master or slave cylinder), but I'm not sure if I got all that.

sry for that thread i was using my new cell phn to type it guess it dident work to good. Let me start over. what i mean about the clutch not engaging, the pedal will still have pressure just wont go in to any gear, this is when the car is stoped. now what seems to fix it, ill shut the car off put it in first then start it up usually makes a low hissing type noise. then i will shut the car off open up the clutch master cylinder pump the clutch pedal to see if i got air in it. Both these things seem to work but oviusly the problem isint completly fixed if it keeps happinin. i never have any lose of fluid. could it possibly be air born or maby slave cylinder or somthin else... hopefully you guys can understand this reply. thanks

I still don't understand what air born has to do with this, from what I can find AirBorn is an aerospace grade electrical connector company *shrugs*
Anyway, it still sounds to me like there is some problem with the master or slave cylinder. A hissing noise is indicative of a release of pressure. You are telling me that when the car is off and the clutch is not engaged, if you put the car in 1st you will get a hissing noise? If messing with the master cylinder fixes your problem temporarily, it sounds like the master cylinder may be going bad. You can try bleeding the clutch system and see if that clears up any of your issues...

dude, I think you've got your terminology wrong. I think you mean air locked. air born means that the thing is flying
or maybe you men airrated which means the amount of bubbles in the fluid reduces it to nothing ore than a useless foam.
either way, check yourself, this guy knows what he's talking about and was trying to help you.
now, I went through the same problem with mine, if I were you I'd go ahead ad buy the new clutch and slave cylinder, they'll both go out within the next month. you might get two months if you're lucky.

by the way sry if i came off the wrong way. but when i first started this thread i wrote air bown. when nobody could figure out what that ment so i wrote air born. after posting i realized how stupid that sounds. i dnt know but were im from if you got air in a line causing a problem, you would say the problems airbown. the clutch and slave cylinder were replaced not to lng ago
