I have tried to read all related posts in regards to the same type of problem. My car when warm bogs out when accelerating as in
stop and accelerate or if i'm trying to pass another car. I sent car to dealer but they recommend plugs and wires which i changed. Now a slight misfire I knew was there is gone but car still drops to 500 rpm during moderate/ heavy acceleration and kicks back up within seconds. I replaced the distributor about three years ago for stalling while at a stop with no restart and got car towed and then replaced cap and rotor about a little over year later for no start because you could physically see cap arching on back of water pump. Also replaced coil once too. I have only had car for approx. 4 years and only 35k miles. Do you think it is the distributor again?

 

Might be a fuel pressure problem.

 

yes check the fuel pressure, could be a bad fuel pump or clogged fuel filter, if that isnt it replace the whole opti spark unit, not just the cap and rotor

 

If everything checks out OK, and the car is stil in trouble, you may want to hook up a scanner, not a code reader, and verify that all sensor readings make sense.
