ug...

what are the specs of the stock lt1 cam, the lt4 cam, and the lt4 hotcam btw? just curious if anyone knows offhand
Calm down, Specter. Quit being such a tightass and take a joke.

I don't have the specs for the LT1 or LT4 cams. Here are the specs for the LT4 HOT CAM.

Lobe Lift- 0.328 (Intake) .328" (Exhaust)
Gross Valve Lift- .525 (Intake) .525" (Exhaust)
Lobe Centerline- 109 degree (Intake) 115 degree (Exhaust)
Duration @ .006"- 272 (Intake) 281 (Exhaust)
Duration @ .050"- 219 (Intake) 228 (Exhaust)
Rocker Arm Ratio- 1.6 (Intake) 1.6 (Exhaust)
Valve Adjustment- zero lash (Intake) zero lash (Exhaust)
Lobe Seperation- 112

This is straight from the information card that I got with my Hot Cam kit.I'm sure you'llquestion my proof (since I don't seem to know anything), so the P/N is 24502586. Happy hunting.

there are several hotcam grinds correct? TSP has their hotcam at
GMPP LT4 Hot Cam: 218/228, .525"/.525" (w/ 1.6:1 Rockers), 112 LSA
it looks like ur numbers are "total lift" or whatever. measured from closed rather than .05 lift (i think thats the other convention but not sure). I dont think in those terms though [&:] so maybe were talkin about the same cam depending on how urs is measured. but TSPs next biggest cam is
Comp Cams 224/230, .503"/.510", 112 LSA (Lift is With 1.5:1 Rocker Ratio)
which is bigger duration but smaller lift. so given that id say the hotcam is actually a fairly large cam for that engine. I know the 350 sb's dont usually go as big with cams as ls1's thats why I ask. my cam lift will be well over .600.

they have much smaller cams like
Comp Cams "304" Camshaft: 210/220, .500"/.510", 114 LSA (Lift is With 1.5:1 Rocker Ratio)
which is still bigger than stock

this is all circumstantial inference from one sight, but i guess the hotcam is a rather large cam. and with all that extra lift on the hotcam vs the comps im surprised ur car doesnt lope alot more. but i guess u do have a smaller lobe separation.

Yeah, the info that I got are pertaining to use with 1.6 roller rockers.

As for lope, it does have a nice lope to it, but what's really strange is that it seems to have more lope when before the engine is warmed up, which stumps me. Then again, I've never stood outside of the car while the engine was warmed up and in "Drive."

I guess every company has their own idea of what a "Hot Cam" is.

As for the Hot Cam being large for the engine, I don't consider it to be too radical, at least not hardly as radical as a CC306, which is pretty large. I also have to worry about emissions, and I think that in order to pass emissions, the Hot Cam is about as large as I could go, and even then, it takes some tuning to pass. As it stands, I certainly won't pass emissions, as I'm running catless right now.

I didn't say, "Your so witty!" I said, "YOU'RE so witty!" To take one out of your book, "Ok, am I the only one here who thought the guy that didn't know 2nd grade English was an idiot?" Ha!"

Regarding gay comments, you make the call. You seem to be more well-versed in that area than the rest of us.
