Default bolts

I have to rebuild the bottom end do I need to replace the rod and main bolts? Do I use bolts for a regular 350 of are they like most parts and to made specificaly for the LT1? I have been told when you pull the heads to change the head bolts should I, and do I need a special set just for the LT1?

It is recomended to use new bolts. I'd go with ARP designed for your application. Your motor has 2 side main cap bolts, essentially making it a 6 bolt main. So a regular 350 kit won't give you all the bolts needed. With cheap customers, we put the old bolts back in. But then again it's cheap insurance.

You definetely have to replace the head bolts if you remove them, they are torque to yeild bolts and can only be used once.
