i replaced the distributer because there was a burn mark on the cap and the engine would not start and now it engine died again and i noticed that the coil wire was sparking all over the fron of the engine. when i looked at the wire and the distributer they are both black at the connections and the coil wire was not pluged in the distributer it was just sitting on it. could this bad connection of the coil wire cause the burn mark on the cap and some melting on the port of the distributer. thank you for you advice.
