most of the time an auto will shift better than a person...you don't need 6 gears in the 1/4 mile

I had an auto v6 but my z is the 6 speed. It really varies from person to person and the application of the car. Mine is a daily driver, so i often find my self longing for an auto when im just trying to get from a to b, but the manual does have the ability to get better mpg when driven correctly.

I have an auto trans Lt1, and I have never had a problem with it. I oncerevved it up to 6500rpms in neutral, and dropped it into drive, to see what would happen. It didn't break. It didn't exactly go either, and just kinda shuddered, and jumped forward a bit. Lol probably one of the dumber things I have done. Anyway NADA Consumer Priceguidedoesnt give a price variation for any option, just mileage, on a 94 Z28. In Kelly Blue book there is no price diferentiation for my car with a stick or an auto. More people probably want autos however. Because they are easier. But manuals are sometimes more fun.

To me it depends where you drive. In heavy traffic the maual can be a pain. Where the traffic is light the manual can be more fun. If you drag race, the auto usually gives better ETs, while the manuals usually turn higher trap speeds. Also, a lot depends on how the car is geared, and the ability of the diver.
