Default Automatic or 6 Speed

Just taking a pulse if you will. I know the advantages of automatic vs 6 speed. My question is a mater of desireability. Is the 6 speed car more desirebale than the automatic? If you had 2 identical Z's, one automatic and one 6 speed. Which would command a premium (IYHO) for resale?

Friends don't let friends drive automatics.

Seriously tho, I have a 6speed and I live in LA.
There are days when I'm sitting in traffic and I'm convinced that at any moment, my left leg is gonna just fall off.
However, when I take her through the canyons, the 6speed pays off. I love manuals, PLUS auto trannys always have computer problems.

I'm not saying I'm right, but I'm just saying...

A six speed car holds a better resale value where I'm from.

6 speed but not by much. It really depends on what the buer plans on doing with the car. I swapped my 6 speed out for an auto because I am a drag racer.

Their both trannies, take whichever one you want.

No advantage to either one.

If the car is a toy, take a 6-speed. They are not completely bulletproof, though.

If it's a daily driver, an auto may do. They aren't all that durable, but I have no idea where these alleged "computer problems" come from since the engine computer also controls the tranny.

My Ranger is a stickshifter, so learning from the Hurricane Rita evacuation, the Camaro I got is an auto.

My car is automatic but it is faster than some manuals. My gears were made to withhold over 600hp. My gear ratio is better than a person that gets perfect shifts. I say, why risk missing a gear when you can have it done for you? Since I use my car for a daily driver, I love the automatic. Some people say that manual is "better" than automatic, but it all depends on the person. I know how to drive manual, but I prefer automatic.
