i asked the garage to do mine and they said the book gave them like 4 hours to do it. I thought i was screwed. well my dad had bought me a "gear ratchet" socket set. not the wreches, but the sockets. I bought the plugs and new wires came with the car because one was burnt and taped up. I figured i would try it. It took me about 1 hour and fifteen minutes to do. but, I still havent replaced the passenger side wires. They are a pain and they still look good. so i have them when i need them. those gear ratchets have a hole all the way through the socket thats big enough to get the whole plug through so it was no problem. kinda tight but i didnt take anything off. Well, i dindnt like the plugs "bosch 4" so i put another set in and it only took 45 minutes the second time. some from the top and some from the bottom. youll just have to see whats best for you. I have pretty big hands. im 6'5 230. point is, get a set of "gear ratchet" socket set. Comes in great on cars and trucks with headers too. You be suprised you can do it yourself so cheap.

I have one of the gear wrench wrench sets, good tools.
My car had a fried wire on the passenger side so that's what started me toward new plugs and wires, the car is lowered and I can't even get it on ramps it's so low.
The shop that did it took a little shy of 2 hrs for the job.

I guess i'll have to run out and grab me a set. im really not looking forward to doing this project. lol. I know shops around here charge about $75 / hr to do that. Plus i need to do brakes and suspension. So it'll be a good day for me im sure. hopefully I make it thru..... lol, along with my wallet, I know suspension parts are pretty $$$$

remember to put anti seize on the plug threads. they really arent that bad to work on. just have to be patient and heal fast. lol. i used a long handled ratchet that flex's at the head. got all but one from the top. the wires on the pas. side are a different story. if you are changing the opti or water pump i recommend u change the wires then. it s a lot easier with the water pump out of the way. if u cant get them from the top with the rear passenger side wires and plugs its easier to unhook the battery and take the starter lose so u can move it out of the way. much better than removing the exhaust.

holy lord! lol. My 84 Z took 10 mins and no cuts or lacerations to do plugs. lol. The guy I bought the car from said that the optispark had been replace but didnt know when, wonder if its in my best interest to replace it agian, so I dont have to do this all over. These usualy last a while after they have been replace?

95 Z28- I can replace all 8 plugs in about 30 minutes after it's on jack stands. That includes gapping and putting on the anti seize. Long Tube headers make life a heck of a lot easier.

Unless you have a walk under lift and air tools like the shop that did mine.
Took about 2 minutes to pull the exhaust outta the way, wouldn't want to do it on my back under a car on ramps with hand tools though.
