Default another problem: fuel pressure leak

i really got ripped off by getting this camaro, im literally noticing new problems everyday. today for instance i drove the car about 15 miles in the heat and when i parked the car i left it for about 10 minutes and when i came back i noticed a bubbling noise like air trying to escape past liquid coming from the rear end of the car, i looked under the car and could tell it was coming from around the gas tank somewhere. so i took the gas cap off and let the pressure escape from there and the bubbling noise stopped leading me to believe it was a fuel pressure leak. also i can smell gas sometimes. is this dangerous? and how can it be fixed? thanks

would that explain the hissing/bubbling sound coming from the rear of the car after long drives though???

if u have a canister thats full yes and maybe a pluged vent valve would. could be a lose clamp or a failing fill hose as well. your gona have to dig in under there after a long drive and try to locate it.

ok i will do that. the car idles fine and doesnt stall but it does seem to have less performance then it used to and seems alittle sluggish. also i can smell gas and its getting terrible gas mileage.

its easy to test the evap, i used a vacuum tester. the canister cover is easy to get off, i did finally take my tire off and that helped alot. yep i used jack stands and a jack for back up, still nervous in that little space. both my solonoid vavle and contol valve were bad,

would that also cause my tank to have a ton of pressure in it? every time i take my gas cap off it hisses alot and releases ALOT of pressure, is that bad?

normally it will have some pressure or vacuum. there is a pressure/vacuum relief valve, its #7 on figure c3-5, also the gas cap is supposed to hold to a certain pressure. anyways the evap system is there to deal with gas fumes by venting to the canister and holding them untill the evap sucks it out (which would relieve pressure) so yes pressure could have something to do with it if its excessive.

can make the car run like crap and get bad mpg. losen the cap so it can breath and see if it makes a difference in how it runs. dont drive it with a lose gas cap. then u might blow up. lol. mine was doin some strange things. had the fuel pressure set low (about 27 lbs wiht key off) and the fuel pressure would go up after i turned the motor off. i think the purge valve stuck or something cause it doesnt do it now. after i got it out it tested bad but it was open all the time.
