what happens if you leave the Stock air intake assembly off with no filter or anything temporary, for example to run it at the drags. I figure, if you get more power by upgrading the unit, why should you get more power without the entire assemly or filter right? There is no restriction.

 

Just get an aftermarket CAI, leaving the intake off can potentially be dangerious for the motor and isn't going to get you any more power than a good aftermarket (read: K&N or Moroso which ever you can get cheaper) CAI.

 

thats true in a sense, you could get a little more power, but a ram air/cai isnt going to restrict the airflow that much, and why risk getting dirty air and contaminents into your engine
