Default Adding an MSD to a Opti?

From what I've learned here, the opti-spark is a very sensitive part. I'm just wondering if adding a MSD 6AL box to my 94 LT would help it survive the elements alittle better? Thanks in advance.

My friend did the MSD 6al box to his LT1 Caprice. all i can say is it became a whole new animal. we went for a drive before, and it had good pickup, but now it just screams...

Boost, thanks for the performance reply but I was inquiring to see if the MSD 6AL box would help in durability to the elements.

I'd think that because of more spark, if anything, an MSD box would cause the opti to burn out quicker because it works harder?
