Default 96 ZR28 STARTING ISSUES

I have a 1996 ZR28 with a LT1. I have had trouble with it since day1!!! It doesn't always wanna start. It's somewhere in the wiring though. The last time it acted up we fooled around with the wires going into coil and it started but the temp gage wouldn't work properly. Next time it did it and we got it started the fuel gage no longer worked right. This last time... the RPM and Speedometer are fouled up!! UGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's now not starting again and I'm lost on ideas. Please help asap. I have no ride until I fix this car.

Thanx!

well im sure the first thing is a moderator is going to tell you not to use red and big font like that.i believe its a z28, not a zr28, maybe that was a typo.sounds like you have a bit of a wiring issue.bad wiring could make it hard to start, but it also could be a weak charging system(battery, alternator), bad starter, dieing optispark(distributor), could be the ignition control module.its just hard to say and wiring gets complicated, your best bet is to take it to a mechanic, electrician to get the wiring checked out, otherewise it makes it hard to say what the problem is.

Thank you for the advice regarding the red font. Sorry I'm not familiar with the "p.c." in and out's of the site. As far as the rest of your input... It's not a Z28, it's a ZR28, a hard to find limited edition version. It was equiped with a LG package. Car has Corvette engine andsuspension plus many other upgrades. And I noted that I am already aware of it being a wiring issue. I took it to a mechanic/ electrician and he was just as lost as I am. Hopefully, someone can offer some helpful info.

Thank you again for the font advice nonetheless.

I cannot find anything that can tell me what a 'ZR28' is. LT1 came in the Camaro and Corvette. Nothing special about that. Some folks have had gauges acting funny when their alternator is dying. If it does notwork right, your battery will not charge, and it will be hard to start.

it is! it even has a corvette engine in it

but seriously if a mechanic couldnt figure out the wiring problem, take it to an electrician, i dont see how we can really help on that online

sounds like you got some major wiring issues and like alih said, if we can't be there to look at it then we can't help much. are we sure its not a computer problem?
