Default '95 Z cutting out at high RPM

I have a '95 Camaro Z28 with a 6-speed manual transmission. Whenever the RPMs are in the range of4000-5500 in 2nd and 3rd gears, the engine cuts out. It doesn't die, but you can feel the hesitation. I was thinking it would be an ignition/spark problem, but I didn't know why it wasn't occurring in 1st gear too. I thought it might be a problem with 2nd and 3rd gear in the transmission, some slippage maybe. I thought Ishould test 4th gear to see if it cuts out, but by the time I hit 5500 RPM in 4th gear, but there aren't many good straight roads around me to do that test Any ideas?

If you guys are having trouble with false knock get an LT4 knock module.

The actual sensor in the block is exactly the same, so you replace the one in the PCM. It should be GM part number 16214681
