Default 94z motor into 96z icm?

I am attemting to put a 94 z motor into a 96z car, I have both harnesses, both cpu's, I see that the 94 uses a different coil and icm. is splicing the harness connectors from the 94 to the 96 the way to go or is there another option?

keep everything from the car you are putting the motor in.

Just pretend the 94 engine is a 96, and equip it that way. Then get the check engine error code (for the 94 not having a crank sensor) tuned out of the computer.

The car is a 96 (OBD2). The wiring needs to be 96. The computer needs to be 96. I don't know why you would want to try and swap the incompatible 94 OBD1 stuff into your car. The only thing that's going to be different is the engine. And the difference between the two engines is the lack of a crank sensor on the 94. The style difference of the opti is of no consequence.
