Take the transmission mount out, and the back of the engine should drop down enough to reach the bolts with a long extension and U joint. There should be dowels that align the teansmission and bell housing to each other. Make sure the dowels are aligned to the hole otherwise when you tighten up the bolts something is bound to break.

It was not backed out enough for the dowel pins to be unaligned. I just backed each bolt off a little. Shook the tranny enough to get it close and drew the drivers side in with the bolts.

They are now tight and it sits flush but still not start. The starter is still hitting the flywheel but no rotation.

Tried turning the crank over to see if the flywheel had a bad spot but still nothing.

Any tips at all other then the voltage?

But a new starter and a new flywheel on. Both were worn down and the flywheel was bent a little. Probably from the tranny being cocked it.

Got it to start once, then it cut off and the security light is on.

New problem. lol.

Like the other guy said, if your starter gear is engaging with the flywheel teeth, but not turning the flywheel, the problem lies within your solenoid or the power output/input. If its a remain, take it back and demand a warranty starter replacement. The exact same thing happened to me three weeks ago. The starter tested perfect at the parts store about 10 times but it would never have enough power to turn my flywheel. I ended up taking it back and demanding a different one. The second starter has worked perfect ever since.

Sounds like a VATS issue. Im not familiar with the circuit for the VATS but maybe someone can post a diagram or some info on it.

Default 1994 Camaro starting problems...theft system

Had a thread on here about the starter. Have it worked out.

It started the very first time and now the security light is on.

The Theft deterrent relay is good. Checked it.
The Theft deterrent module is good as well, getting the injectors and the starter.

Something else in the security is having problems.

Have cleaned the key, reset the computer, let it sit for the 3 minutes, everything I have found online so far dealing with it.

Any ideas on what I should be bypassing? What should I check next?

Any tips at all?

Got the starter worked out, got it started, now it has a VATS problem.

It is 100% the VATS, I am just not sure how to bypass it.
Or which part to by[***,
the module or the relay.

Or to get a different lock and key?

Have you tried a spare key, or sprayed contact cleaner inside the lock?

This is the only key I have. I have not cleaned the lock yet, the only thing I have not done.

What should I clean it with?
