Ok. I know aamco's scanners will read me cause I took my car there when I had a couple shift solenoids go bad but I wasn't sure if theirs would do a full read, like if their scanner is crap or not lol. Looks like I've got a fun day ahead of me.

Just got done with aamco. Here are the codes.... 16 low resolution pulse failure. 13 bank 1 o2 short. 44 lean bank 1. 64 lean bank 2. 15 coolant temp signal high. The coolant I'm 99% positive It's bad wiring from something else I did. The lean o2's probably from the opti. The low res pulse failure I'm pretty sure is the bad opti. If anyone can tell me for sure what the codes mean that would be awesome.

Well two things I wish I could do is read electrical diagrams and use a real computer but all I have is an EVO so unfortunately I don't understand or can't read the pictures. I really appreciative it though but if you can explain it that would be great

So I found this website that lists the definitions of the codes and for my opti basically my optical disk is bad. Not sure if It's cause I installed the o-ring wrong but I'm currently in the process of sending it back sand getting a new one from msd. I'll post again when I get the new one installed.

So I finally got the new distributor the other day and I finished putting everything back together and guess what? Still runs the same with a brand new msd opti....big surprise. I'm at a loss and have no clue what to do from here. My wife keeps telling me to sell so I'm actually looking for a new camaro but if I can save this one I will. Any ideas on why it still isn't working? Anything would help right about now.

Triple checked all the connections before I put everything back together and I don't know how to reset the codes. I've heard before that gm doesn't run well with anything accept gm or delco parts so I'm wondering if I just need to go back to a factory opti which I'm hoping I don't.

unhook both battery cables from the battery, touch the positve and negative cable ends to each other for 10 or so minutes. did i say to unhook the cables from the battery. most certainly do not touch positive and negative wires together while one or other or both is hooked to battery. im sure you know this, just sayin. lol. should clear codes and reset all systems so it will run a bit rough or different for the first few starts and runs. computer is relearning.
