If you only want to get rid of the opti then get his coilpacks, wires, wiring harness, and PCM and do the LS1 PCM conversion. You will have to buy a 24x reluctor wheel as well. Much easier than swapping the motor.

being he is obd1 it will take more than that. sensors are different, transmissions are different at least the auto's are, it would take some difficult wiring changes.

Difficult wiring would still be the easier route than doing the whole swap, that is if he doesn't have EVERYTHING from the other car.

theres the brakes if one has traction control and the other doesnt you would need the rearend as well. you will need the body control modual so the under dash harness and whatever is defferent there. your right with a obd2 lt1 it would save alot but in the case of a 94 it would take alot. the easiest and least expensive way to almost get rid of the opti is going with ltcc or more money efi or fast

i thought the ltcc still used the opti. i though it used it as like a cam positioning sensor.

right i said almost get rid of it. with all of them you need a crank/cam sensor. one of the fast setups uses the the opti as well but for spark and requires a crank sensor. the efi requires its own 24x crank sensor.
