Default 93 Z28 starts then stalls

93Z, getting intermittent spark at the coil. I think it might be the optispark, but is there a sure way to know? Could it be the module? I am thinking the pickup in the opti is not sending the signal correctly to the computer to fire the coil.

I want to make sure it is the opti before I take it all apart.

Any input?

How do I test the coil? Could it be a bad coil?

if u read though it u would notice that its checking for a pulse on the low resolution or test conector a. u can do this and most all the tests with a ohm/volt meter. a bad opti does not always throw a code.

Good stuff, thanks!

I just got a hold of a determinator scanner from my buddy, I am going to hook that in to see, what if any codes have come up and also to see if the pickup is showing rpm.

Boy do I really want to make sure it is the opti before I do it........

Ok, I scanned everything, NO codes. And I am get rpm signals when cranking the engine, that means the opti pickup sensor is working. So I will test the ignition coil or get a temp to see if that is the problem.
