Default 93 Lt1

I have been looking at short and long block options. I have noticed a lot of places are listing the 94-97 LT1 but skipping the 93? Whats up with that, what is the differents? is the 93 a 4 bolt?

no the 93 is the same motor. i have a 96 vette block in mine. heads are the same but there are casting numbers you will want to stay away from if you plan on porting. if i remember right the 93 has the good heads. at least mine did.

There is a guy near me that has a wrecked 95 Buick Roadmaster with only 60K on it. It was his grandfathers wagon. It is not out of the car yet so i can go hear it run. He is willing to sell me the whole drive line for $700. Is there a down side to this? I would use the heads off the 93 (I think they are LT4 heads and intake) and i would buy a new cam kit.

Also would the Tranny fit a Camaro? I would be looking to sell that.

if its a 4l60e the trany will not work with the 93. 700r4/4l60 is what you want, the mounting im not sure on the buick. 93 also has the 5 pin tcc plug. block should be the same.

Since mine is a 6 speed i do not have use for the tranny but the guy wants to sell the complete drive line. Is the engine going to OK? I thought I remember reading they are pretty much the same as the Camaros except the Cam and heads. Just want to be sure before i lay out the cash.

I found this one on craigs list by me. I think I am going to pull the trigger on it. Just the engine.

"1994 impala ss lt1 with only 45,000 miles runs great motor complete with ecm and motor harness. I also have the trans a 4l50e and the posi rear end with disc brakes. we can work out a deal for every thing everything is still in the car so you can here motor run car was reched and striped i bought it for the drive train"

I kno the lt1 in the impalas was detuned so it makes less hp and the cam was changed in order to give the bigger car more torque to get down the road, but over all it is the same engine and should go in fine, i believe the intake and exaust was choked in order to lessen hp numbers so opening her up would really help
