6 speed question
newbie here. just bought my first camaro. the guy i bought it from told me the trow out bearing was bad. when you put it in first gear and go to let out on the clutch it makes a roaring sound but only at half let out. and its hard to get it in reverse. do you think the clutch has seen its better days? he bought a new one before i bought it and never had the money to have it installed. thanks fr the help.
If it was just the throwout bearing and not the clutch that's bad, you would still have to drop the transmission out to replace it. At that point, it would be extremely foolish to replace one thing and not the other. When doing a clutch job, it's wise to replace everything; clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing/bushing, and have the flywheel resurfaced.
