Default Question For Those with a 5-Speed...

When I purchased my 94 3.4 5 speed (my first manual!) I was told that it had an aftermarket Muncie 5-speed transmission in it. Between Shifts (1-2,2-3,3-4 etc...) when I engage the clutch the rpm rev up 1/2 and rpm for example:tach at 3,000 push in clutch and momentarily revs up to 3,500 which I love the way it sounds I was just wondering if the dude was lying and it is just a factory tranny or what. Basically my Question is does anybody elses transmission do that or is this possibly an aftermarket tranny? I ca't find any kind of stamping on the bottom of the tranny. where does gm stamp there logo or whatever on a factory one?

Thanks in advance!

I know mine does, but in all honesty, I could just be doing it on my own. I am pretty free with giving the floor a kiss with my gas pedal.

The trans should have castings by the linkage for the clutch or the shifter.

Well mine doesn't do that. Are you sure you aren't giving it a little gas between shifts?
