1997 Camaro LT1 - New fuel pump hissing?
I recently had a fuel pump replaced at a garage and they used a Spectra Fuel Pump that I believe they purchased from Napa Auto Parts.
The application is:
1997 Camaro - 5.7 LT1
The car runs better with the new fuel pump however, this new pump seems very loud. When you turn the car over, you can hear a very loud hissing noise coming from the rear of the car. Is this normal? The factory pump was never loud and even though the car is running better with the new pump, I need to make sure they installed it correctly or that the pump is not faulty.
Anyone else ever had this issue?

Not sure about that exact brand of pump, but some pumps are noisier than others.
If it is running normally and you have good pressure, it is very possible that you just have a loud pump.
I know that I can really hear my pump when the little cover over the T-Top storage area is folded down. But I don't notice it much with that cover up in the normal place.
