1997 camaro 383 issues

It has been tuned but I'm not sure by who... I appreciate all the help. I'm gonna start digging into it and see what I can find. I just blew a hole in my driver side header... they are pace setter headers, I think is the name. They are cheapos. Any recommendations on headers?

pacesetters are good, need to have them coated though. imo kooks are the best. heres a good place to look. 1997 Chevrolet Camaro Headers | LM Performance

American Racing are stainless steel and lifetime warranty,that's what I'm going with on advice from Wong's Performance.

sounds like all the power of the 383 is to much for what you have for exhaust right now iif its exsempt from emission go true duals,myself the 2in to one into 2 never made sence for power air flow so on

Could be a lot of things but i doubt its the opti. Always check for DTC (codes) first and never diagnose by just buying and replacing parts. What you need is a data log. It reads like your closed loop operation is having problems and a data log will look at fuel trims, O2 sensors, timing advance, TPS, IAC, and knock sensor. Data logger is usually a PC with tuning software and is expensive up front but usually pays for its self if you keep and fix the car over several years. Sometimes you can find a dealers shop "Tech tool" scanner and data logger for less money. Those will allow you to make functional changes to the PCM also.

hate to say it but wondering if the rotor screws are coming lose, always pull new opti cap off and lock tight the rotor screws. some do come lose and cause bad things to happen.
