Default 1994 z28 questions

I just picked up a 94 z28 with 128xxx miles... One of the things i was wondering is should i rebuild the lt1 or should i build an ls motor? I dont know alot about these engiens so which is better to build? i am trying to build an import eating vette killer. Thanks for your time and any comments or suggestions are welcome

well an ls engine is really hard to fit into, as the lt is crammed tight enough into that engine bay, with any modifications you can beat an import and if you really put some money into it you could beat a 'vette. i wouldnt waste the money rebuilding the engine unless it hasnt been taking care of, you should use the money to get some good upgrades

well my thinking is go ahead and rebuild with performance parts so i know everything is working correctly... and 128k miles i plan on putting some pretty harsh miles on this thing myself, I do not know how well the engine was taken care of but the car runs fine as it sits, would you recommend stoking it right off the bat? you guys know more about this stuff then i do so im open to any reccomendations

Im in your same postion i have the same car as well. I was told you modding itwith all bolt onsand getting it to run the best it can with out a forged assembly first is the best thing. Then after you have it running at tip top shape with bolt on mods then i would start doing internal stuff i thought of the same thing my 94 z28 has 113k miles but when you start rebuilding it i found that summitracing.com is a good place to get rebuild kits. Good luck

ive got a 94 with 128xxx and i figure ill do bolt ons, full exhaust, intake etc. Then when the engine ****s on me ill buy a crate lt1 from GM and build the internals on that and add all my bolt ons back.

Assuming you have the money you can build up the LT1 the car has right now and do whatever you want. Again if you have the cash. But like my Maro bro's said start with the bolt on's because even if you do build up the motor then you'll need the bolt on's anyway. At least this way you'll already have them there. Bada-boom bada-bing!!
