I have 2000 Camaro z28 auto transmission and car revs to 3000 rpm to change gear is this ok???

Depends on how hard you press the gas pedal. At part throttle, the harder you press the gas pedal, the higher the RPM when it shifts. At full throttle is should shift just before the red line on the tach.
