Do you have to upgrade the timing chain or set when you install a performance cam? If so, do you install an LS2 chain or the whole LS2 Set?

I know it's to strengthen it, the LS2 chain is stronger than the LS1. But, I need to know if it's necessary and if you replace the chain only.
