i have a 2000 z28 and i hear a strange rattling noise every one in awhile...any ideas of what this could be??

 

Thats a very vague question. could be a convertor, could be lots of things where does is sound like its coming from under the car, under the hood?

 

Yeah, we need a location. Alot of things on a car can come loose and rattle rather easily.

Under what conditions does it happen?

The transmission mounts have a tendency to break on our cars, if it seems to happen when you take off hard and only in the first couple of gears my bet is going to be on the tranny mount.

 

mostly when i'm sitting at a light, how would i find out if its the tranny mount?
