running my camaro in the 10's?
I have about 4500 dollars cash saved up. Im about to do some modding to my camaro and im wondering if i can get my car in the 10's with about this much money without braking anything and with what kind of mods if anyone has any ideas. but if 10's aren't possible then how fast will this make me with the mods below that i already have. And the 4500 will be used for labor and parts. The info below on my car is how it sits right now. One more thing i thought i should mention the fastest my car has gone is 12.899 at 108mph but myaverage time is 13.00at 105 &106 mph.

You probably won't 10's. For that you will need, heads, cam, and a new rear end, which will be more $4500 withlabor. Are you an auto or a stick? If auto you will also need a high stall tq converter. You should be able to hit mid 11's with that budget without nitrous. If you wan to spray the car, you will still need a new rear and maybe a cam, plus tires and tuning and all the saftey items for the nitrous.
The main thing I would tell you is gears... The 4.10's would be a good gear to go with. Unless you are an auto... Then I would look at 3.73's if you plan to drive it on the street very much. If you do plan to use spray be sure to build up the bottom end of your motor.. or she will blow..

I see your new so I won't go too hard on you, but please only give advice on this site if you actually have experiance in what your saying.. A stock bottom end LS1 will handle a 150 shot all day long and 4.10 are fine on the street. These cars have an OD trans with a lockup converter, rpms are not high like they were with a 3 spped trans and 4.10's

what is ideal for a 2K Z28 ls1 A/T gears upgrade, and what should it cost in from start to finish, including labor?
Like anything else gears should be matched to the rest of the combo. Tire height, rpm range and your ultimate goals are all things that need to be taken into account. Last time I drove a 4.10 geared autoLS1 was on a trip from Chicago to Union Grove WI. RPMS were about 2300-2500 at 70-75mph and the car got around 23-25 mpg. It also ran 11.4's
