Default rebuild or new

hey everyone i've read some of the post and just let me say im not exactly a grease monkey but i love my car and im leavin for iraq and my car is goin into total overhaul and i just need to know anything you can tell me. my engine is just fine it's startin to use up oil but nothin is leaking and its starts up and runs beautifully but it has 190,000 miles on it and while im fixin her up i figure i might as well take care of the issue before it becomes an issue i really want to know if its better to get a new engine or just get this one rebuilt!

I personaly would just get a new engine and start fresh. If you have the money I would defintily do that its like having a brand new car... who knows what wear has happened to your old engine that can't be seen. Just my opinion. Any other takers here?

I'd agree! Rebuilding is a lotta labor and thus tends to be expensive. It's like buying sand one grain at a time - just get buy the scoop for $5 and be done with it. Just get a crate or rebuilt (long block) and reap the savings for other things
