MAF Screen Delete -- poor idle & stumble?
I read in HP Books' "Chevy LS1/LS6 Performance" that "GM has deleted the [MAF] screen starting with the 2002 LS6."
That being said, is there any other difference on the LS6 intake from the LS1? Originally the MAF screen honeycomb was said to create a smooth laminar/straightened airflow to obtain a more accurate reading, and I'm sure another safety screen from things getting past the air filter.
It seems there is no negatives to removing the screen, but I have also read that some cars react with a gain, and others with poor idle and tip-in stumble... What's your experience?
