if you get a 01 or 02 then it already has an LS6 intake manifold (i guess i forgot that one) so if you get a 98-00 then an LS6 intake would be a pretty good idea for some extra horses

and im getting all of my information for camaros, im not really sure how it changes for corvettes from year to year but i think its the same

[align=left]Thanks for the info. Yeah im not sure what type of car i will get the engine from. I think the corvette covers would look nice in my engine bay but they can be put on any ls1 so im told. Camaro LS1's are cheaper at least in my area because even the junkyard guys have the "but its a vette and its better syndrome" mentioned above. What other mods help ls1's, im planning on headers and a high flow intake obviously but other than that i really dont know. Thanks guys

long tube headers are great, if you get the LS6 intake manifold you can leave it alone unless you start getting some really high numbers, i dont know if you will be using a lid on your setup but if you have a stock lid you would want a new one, you could also get a new throttle body for a couple hp

thats all i can think of thats not internals, for higher horsepower you could get a nice heads/cam setup

and LS1s are also known to love nitrous and respond very well to it

Thanks for the help guys, sorry i havnt been on to respond work and school has been really busy. Nickdot when you talk about a "lid" your refering to the camaro intake right? My intake will be custom for its application so no i wont have one of those. Im having second thoughts on the turbo system, although its a good system and my truck is lifted having the air filter under my truck doesnt look to good anymore. Does anyone know what kind of numbers i could pull out of a rebuilt LS1 thats stock size or possibly a 383? As for nos, could i reliably run a 50 shot and be safe i really dont want to fry my motor after all the money im gonna put into it? Thanks guys, i appreciate the help.

I really dont know man, thats why i am asking. If i could get a rebuilt ls1 to about 400+ horse without major power adders i would be happy, but having a nos button for that little extra kick would be nice.
