Default low coolant sensor

Is it possible for the low coolant sensor to fail? My low coolant light has come on and had stayed on for several days. Checked my radiator cap and it is full as well as my surge tank. thanks.

Yes it can. See number 13 in the link provided. And yes, it still applies to your LS.

I also have a 98 Camaro Z28 which had ongoing issues with the coolant level sensor. Once I changed it and bled the air from the system, I had no more problems.

The sensor eventually leaks coolant into the electronics and then it's history. I have taken apart several and seen the coolant stains on the circuit board.

The sensor is there as an idiot light anyway, just keep an eye on your coolant levels every now and then and you'll be fine

I ran into the same issue. After replacing the sensor twice, I finally decided to unplug the thing and stop throwing money at it. I just check the level periodically.

Yeah the sensor really isn't necessary. I didn't bother to fix it until I decided to sell the car.
