Almost 64 and I will pick-up my ordered 2012 Camaro 1SS with auto and power sun roof this Monday.........can't wait. Graduated HS in '66 during the "Muscle Car" years before the oil embargo early 70s. Nice to see the compression ratio's go back up and technology helping efficiency once again.

I'm amazed to find out that my dealership sells on the average of 2 Camaro's/Vet's a month to people in their 50s-60s. He said they are the people that can afford them. This dealership has multiple stores all over the country - one in Vegas were Camaro's are popular transportation due to climate.

Well for some people in their 50s and 60s, they want the feel of having a real American car again. Not these whimpy FWD I4s that are all show and no go. I have no problem getting 15 mpg in the city with my V8 just for the simple fact that when I want the SOB to squeal tires and go fast, all I do is hammer my right foot to the floor.

MKCoconuts you got that right. My new SS replaces a '96 Caprice Classic (last of the rear wheel drive Caprice's) that had a LT1 in it multi-port fuel injection. That car got 25/26 mpg on the highway with lots of giddy-up. Had 186K with nothing major but a new Modine radiator that had a trani AND engine oil cooler in it. No foreign vehicles for me!
