if money is a concern i would dffinetly go with the pacesetter armor coated. theyre relatively inexpensive at about $420 but they are pretty good quality. i just ordered a pair for my 02 ss

Pacesetter is good and so is Flowtech (which I have and have no complaints about.)

My car got a lot louder but that is mainly due to the removal of cats. Long tubes can add about 15-20 rwhp on an LS1 depending on what other mods the car has.

im pretty sure if you get a set of headers with the EGR hook up they will still be legal, but im pretty sure its illegal every where to cut the cats. it depends how strict the cops are there. I cut the cats on my truck and ranit without them for two years . i plan on doing the same with my ss, but whenyou go get your brake tag some stations check for emmisions so thats wat you need to look out for.

just change your brakes yourself...it's easy enough. And you wont get hassled about lack of cats.
