Default headers

I recently purchased a 2000 camaro ss and I am looking into getting some headers, but don't know much about them. I am leaning toward pacesetter longtubes and I'm wondering if it will still pass emissions. As far as I know I will need a Y-pipe and a high flow cat also. Basically I am looking to make the car louder and maybe add some power in the process. Any ideas will be helpful, thanks!

Find out your state laws, and if you want LT headers that last, get stainless steel ones like Kooks or ARH, not Pacesetter... You can go with an off-road Y (no cat) or with cats... Look into an electric valve cutout for a little extra cabin-controllable volume control.

as a nice bonus, headers make doing spark plugs a hell of a lot easier

Yea, change your motor mounts before putting in the headers too if you have high miles like maybe 75k+, so your exhaust does not bang on the floorboards...

Stay away from Pacesetter and Hooker headers. The Pacesetters rust and Hookers don't fit that great from what I've seen Kooks, QTP's or American Racing Headers are the way to go. Cost more but will last, and the fit is great.
