Default Which gears should i get?

Now that i have just about 5 grand saved up i think i know what im gonna do but need some opinions. Im about to put in a brand new ford 9" with either 3:70, 3:90, or 4:11 and a 3600 stall and a wet NX kit with a new tune. In about 3 or 4 months later this year i will be doing a head and cam package. And im actually torn between the 3.90's and 4.11 gears so what do you guys think i should do? What will this do to my E.T. at the strip? By the way this is a weekend/strip driven car.

I think you should save your money and enjoy the ride you have now. Unless you are a hardcore fulltime racer you are throwing money away on a street driven car, My opinion.

The only time i drive my car is on ther weekends to wash it and to cruise with on friday and saturday nights and to the drag strip wich i go to every weekend to race i cant get enough of it. My goal with this car is to keep it in really good condition and run mid 10's wich i hope will be by next spring. My car means everything to me and so does drag racing. And i only plan on making it, stronger, faster, and nicer looking.

You should get the gears to go with the tire size and mph you'll be running. Ideal in the 1/4 you'll pass the finish line in top gear just as you'd have to shift. If you're using nitrous you can get away with the lower gear ratio. I if you make power to 6500 I'd run the 4.11's, if you're only going to run the motor to 6000 I'd stick with the 3.90s.. You can always use a "taller" tire is you have too much gear. If you plan to always be a "nitrous" guy and are getting a new cam soon, have one custom ground for nitrous use. A lot of LS1 cams have a 114 lobe which is great with the nitrous motors.
