Default Finally purchased an LS1

I decided on a black 2000 Z28 with 55.5K miles. I am the third owner, but the second owner only had it for 3 months b/c he didn't look into insurance before he bought it. I picked it up for $11K. If is fully loaded, leather T-tops, power everything including power seat, 12 disc w/ monsoon. Does anyone elses 12 disc changer not play burnt CD's? As it sits the car is completely stock. In the future i would like to get an SLP lid, Coated or stainless pacesetter headers, Pacesetter ORY pipe, and a cat-back. I am thinking of going with the hooker cat-back b/c of it's price and I heard it has a nice sound to it which is what I am looking for since almost all exhausts are within 2 or 3 HP of each other (except flowmaster). I really like the idea of an electric cutout but don't know if you are supposed to run an aftermarket exhaust or stock and does it replace the Y pipe or ...? Are all exhausts compatible with the pacesetter y-pipe, how do i find out? I am definitely a novice at this so help/advice is appreciated. thanks, matt

Default RE: Finally purchased an LS1

the elec. cut out doesn't "replace" any pipes. they cut a section out of ur existing pipe, fit the cut out over the pipe ends, and weld or clamp it.

here is a diagram of the one that I have installed on my pickup..

and it can be stock (sleeperish!) or modified exhaust, doesn't really matter
