Default Cold Air Intake

I was thinking about buying the K&N Cold Air Intake for my 01 SS, just wondering what everyone thinks of it. Does it add a noticeable difference to HP, torque, or gas mileage? It cost like 400 bucks and I really don't wanna buy it if I can't tell the difference. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

there are clearly 2 route you can go.

SLP lid with k and n panel filter (200) bucks MAX

K and N induction intake ^^^. Dyno tested by k and n , and make 15hp.

I have the lid and filter, with filter tray cut out, you can tell the car breathes better, you have seen how restricted the stock intake is. However you have an SS so dont know if you have the slp one already??

If you get the k and n cai it will prob not change power etc much, but will sound awesome, makes the engine growl. But then when you get an exhaust you cant hear anything because thats so loud. For 400 id say no, id get the lid and panel if you havent already

There are loads of threads on the same topic, throw it in the search and see what ya get!

CAI by itself will not be detectable as far as power increase but it will definetely become more important to making power with additional mods like headers/exhaust/heads/cam/intake, etc, etc...

Like Maudy said it does sound great when you blip the throttle with a stock exhaust but is harder to hear once you do exhaust..

Get the SLP Lid & Filter...
