Personal preference. Each synthetic has benifits over another it just depends on what you're looking for. Penzoil has better anti-sheering characteristics than Mobil 1. Mobil 1 has the best viscosity retention, Castrol synthetic has the highest detergent, Royal Purple has the best anti dilution and thermal endurance, and Amsoil has the lowest toxic content. So it just depends on what you're looking for. I personally like Royal Purple the best. If you think about it, your car is designed for multi multi-weight oil. It can accept 5W-30 or 10W-30 so how important is viscosity? No I know you don't want it to be too thick when you start it up cold, but within reason it has been accepted to change a certain amount of viscosity. Thicker oil gives you higher oil pressure, higher oil pressure means higher horsepower capablilties.

B.T.W. Valvoline conventional oils suck cuz they airate easily. When you suck up air in your oil, you have air pockets and when they pass through the system, there is a bubble of insufficent oiling.

Brad Penn Racing Oil- It has higher zinc levels for better friction reduction. It is the choice of Older car owners with Flat Tappet cams so why would it not be good for Roller Cam cars too. I also own an aircooled VW which routinely run 200+ degrees or more oil temps and it does very well with it. VW engine builders were having problems with Lifters getting eaten up on break in. With the higher zinc oils they do not. It is a Semi Synthetic and it is Green. Google it.

RAt454 is so right about filters. I had another car that I got tappet noise at 100k. I switched to a Ford Filter that has a true Anti-Drain back valve and it quit. Wicks ahs them too. They have a spring inside not a big hole.

oil is oil.. fuel touches it its owned.. how can u have a high resistance to something.. like water and electricity. if u wear rubber ur still gana get shocked. and blow by is exhaust fumes.

ANY Full Synthetic, even the Wal-Mart SuperTech is better than conventional or blends... With Full Synth. the oil filter doesn't matter as much (although I would still stay away from Fram). Get a magnetic drain plug just for extra peace of mind.
