Default Average Oil Pressure

Im getting ready to buy my first "american muscle" car. A 1998 Camaro Z28 w/ the LS1.

My main concern is that the oil pressure is good.

The car has 115,XXX miles on it. The oil pressure while at idle, warm or cold is around the 1/4 mark. After you give it gas or drive it it shoots rite up to around 40-55. Is the typically where they all are?

Also, can any damage be done from the exhaust being cut off rite in front of the catalytic convertor? (besides sound like A$$)The previous owner did this because the pipes got messed up when it was towed.

The oil pressure is typical of most cars, low at idle and increases as the revs pick up. You should get the exhaust fixed, if nothing else to keep from asphixiating yourself.

A lot depends on the viscosity of the oil you use.
