Hey guys and girls well i'm looking to get more speed. I was told this is a good place to post! I love speed that is the only reason why i bought my camaro..... Does any one know what I should buy 1st to gain more speed? Something not too expensive. I drive a 1999z28 V8 engine. I don't know much about cars so please help me out guys.

Your car is good for 160 to 170 MPH, and you want to go faster? LOL

 

Like I put in your other post, Cold air intake and cat back, those are the most common initial mods. After that, you can go for some headers, maybe a cam, some better tires, FAST 90mm intake manifold, heads...the list is almost endless. Some 3.73 or 4.11 gears if you don't care about your gas. I also read that you have an auto, that's ok, the auto's have a more aggressive first gear than the standards do anyway, and they run similar if not better times in the 1/4 mile...

The best single mod you can make to the LS1 is a good set of long tube headers. They add mid range torque and high end HP, they improve fuel economy and they do absolutely nothing to increase the stress on the engine. It's best to install them with a good cat back, but if I had a limited budget I'd go with headers first.
